Coach Katelyn grew up right here in Silver Spring, MD and has been swimming since 2002 and lifeguarding since 2013. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and the Kennedy Leadership Training Institute Program. While in high school, she was Captain of the Varsity Swim Team, Captain of the Varsity Lacrosse team and a member of the Varsity Soccer team and Varsity Cheerleading team. Plus, she managed the Varsity Baseball team. She has raised money for charities through Swim to Save programs and has assisted with swim team and teaching. Now she attends the Towson University studying elementary education. She loves swimming and teaching. This is Coach Katelyn's fourth summer coaching the Kangaroos. Katelyn is looking forward to another great summer with the Kemp Mill Kangaroos.
Coach Amber grew up in Silver Spring Maryland. She has been swimming since 2004 at Parkland and Kemp Mill Swim Clubs and been a lifeguard since 2014. She graduated from John F Kennedy High School from the Broadcast Journalism Academy. While in high school, Amber was Captain of the varsity swim team and captain of the varsity cheer team. She was also manager of the varsity softball team. Amber now attends Cabrini University where her major is Communications. She is also apart of the University’s swim team. She swims the 50 Meter freestyle, 100 Meter freestyle, and 100 Meter backstroke and in February 2018 the team won the National Collegiate Athletic Association Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. Amber is very excited to share her knowledge of swimming and to work with the Kemp Mill Swim Team family.
