The Kangaroos Need You!
The Kangaroos run on parent power! We have a small team, so we need every family to help out. If your swimmer participates in a meet, you will be expected to volunteer at that meet. If you are interested in volunteering for a season long swim team task, let the team Rep know. Holding a season long position will exempt you from some of your meet day volunteer obligations. We need your help to make a successful swim team!
A typical swim meet requires approximately 50 adult volunteers in various roles, and when we host a home meet our team will be required to fill about 30 of those volunteer positions. Whether you have experience or not, there is a volunteer position you can fill.
During the registration process, you will be asked to identify which dates your child is available to participate in meets. If your swimmer participates in a meet, you will be expected to help at that meet. Meet Day volunteer assignments will be emailed along with the swimmer lineup before each meet. If you have strong preferences for your job assignment or special considerations please indicate this on the registration form or contact the team Rep.
If you cannot volunteer at an assigned shift, you may swap with another adult (or pay a teenager to work your shift :-). To facilitate volunteer communication, use the KMkangaroos email list. If you don't have access to the email list, just email the Rep.
